MDHM Group, Inc. ("we", "us", "our") operates the website mdhm-group.com and distributes the desktop software listed on it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

By using our website or software, you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you contact us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your message. When you purchase a license, our payment processor collects billing details - we do not store your card number or full billing address.

Information collected automatically. Our website may collect standard server log data such as IP addresses, browser type, referring pages and the date and time of requests. This information is used solely for security monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis.

No account registration. Our software does not require you to create an account.

Our Desktop Software

Your files stay on your computer. Conversion and other processing happen locally. Our applications do not upload your media files, their contents or file names.

Anonymous usage statistics. Our applications send anonymous usage statistics to Google Analytics so we can see which versions and systems are in use and how often the apps are started. Each report contains:

a random installation identifier generated on your computer (it is not linked to your name, email or license);
the application name and version, and the operating system name and version;
how the app was installed, for example from the Microsoft Store, if the installer recorded it;
whether the copy is free or registered (the license key itself is never sent);
events such as app start, first launch, update, exit, and clicks on links inside the app.

To estimate your country, the app looks up your public IP address with ipify.org or checkip.amazonaws.com and passes it to Google Analytics, which derives an approximate location from it. The Windows installers of some of our applications also report when an installation starts, completes or is removed, together with the same random identifier and the app version; the Audio Converter installer, starting with version 2.4, sends nothing. These reports do not include your name, email address, license key or any information about your files.

Update checks. The app periodically downloads version information from our update server to tell you about new versions. The request contains the app version and standard connection data such as your IP address. You can turn update checks off in the app settings.

Cover art search. When a file has no cover art, the app can look it up online. For this it sends the artist and album name from the file's tags to cover art services: Apple iTunes Search, Deezer, Last.fm and Discogs by default, and Bing Images or Yandex Music if you enable them. You can turn this off with the "Search cover art automatically" option in the app settings. These services operate under their own privacy policies.

License activation is checked on your computer. Your license key is not sent to us or to anyone else when you activate it.

Turning statistics off. Audio Converter 2.4 and later has a "Send anonymous usage statistics to improve application" option in Settings > General. It is off by default when the app is installed from the Microsoft Store and on by default otherwise, and you can change it at any time. While it is off, the app sends no usage statistics and does not look up your public IP address. When you change the option, the app sends one report that statistics were turned on or off, with the random identifier, the app version and the operating system; for the report that they were turned off, it does not look up your IP address.

Our other applications do not have this option yet. If you do not want them to send statistics, you can block their access to google-analytics.com with a firewall; the apps keep working normally.

How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Payment processing. Purchases are handled by Stripe or PayPal. These services operate under their own privacy policies and PCI-DSS compliance programs. We do not receive your card number. We keep the name and email address you give at checkout, the transaction confirmation, and technical data about the purchase request (IP address, approximate country and browser type), which we use to deliver your license and to prevent fraud.

We use Stripe for payment, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects identifying information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection. Email delivery. We use a transactional email provider to send receipts and replies to support requests. These providers process email addresses only as necessary to deliver messages.

Analytics. If web analytics are enabled on this site, only aggregated, anonymized data is collected. No cross-site tracking or advertising identifiers are used.

Cookies

Our website uses only essential cookies required for basic functionality (e.g. security tokens on form submissions). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Data Retention

Support correspondence is retained for up to two years to provide continuity of service. Purchase records are kept as required by applicable accounting and tax law. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction or deletion of your data
Object to or restrict processing
Receive a portable copy of your data

Children's Privacy

Our software and website are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance.
